For anyone questioning their life and needing somewhere to set the weight down — music to feel soothed and fully alive in, made by someone who’ll still be at the bar after the show.

Born at the crossing of African, European, and American Indian roots, and built on a self-taught belief that music shouldn’t have to choose a single tradition to be honest, fonchild’s “melting folk” blends fingerstyle intimacy with the full warmth of blues, gospel, soul, and rock…
fonchild — lowercase, on purpose. “Fon,” from the Fon ethnic group and dialect of the Kingdom of Dahomey, carrying African ancestry. “Child,” for European and American roots, for being an international child of the world, and for staying a lifelong learner even as an adult.
Born in Cergy, France, at the end of the ’70s, of African, European, and American Indian descent — someone who grew up already standing at several crossroads at once, and never saw a reason to pick just one. Self-taught on guitar since the teenage years, finding balance alone before sharing it with others, unashamed of the sensitivity in it. Occasional musicians met along the way, rare shows until 2025. Today: solo or with a full band, depending on the night.
